The Francis Howell High School Activities Department believes that all Howell programs should promote high achievement in all activities, in the classroom, and in the community. Preparing our student-participants is our top priority and being involved in a Howell activity enhances the overall high school experience of students and staff alike. We recognize our role in developing successful students who represent our programs, Francis Howell High School, the community, and their families in a positive way.
In order to achieve this level of development among our student participants we have developed a set of core values. We ask that all students, staff, parents, and community members involved in our programs embody these core values that are emphasized within our programs.
Below are the R.I.S.E. core values that are the foundation and emphasis of all involved within Howell activity programs:
Respect - Student-participants, staff, parents and Viking fans respect and value others.
Integrity - Student-participants, staff, parents, and Viking fans demonstrate their integrity by being honest and trustworthy in their actions. The preparation of our students to become leaders, good citizens and contributors to the community is a commitment by all involved in Howell activities.
Sportsmanship - Student-participants, staff, parents and Viking fans practice the ideals of sportsmanship and are leaders within the framework of a competitive environment.
Excellence - Student-participants, staff, parents and Viking fans are in pursuit of excellence in sport, activity, in the classroom and in our community. Our focus on excellence remains constant as we strive to create positive and successful experiences for all involved.
